Best-selling author Sara Gruen recently appeared on C-SPAN to discuss Ape House, her upcoming novel inspired by the bonobos and scientific research at Great Ape Trust. Her appearance was part of C-SPAN's coverage of Book Expo America, a trade show for publishers that features writers and their work.

Laning says:

I watched this on C-SPAN and it revolutionized my thinking about lots of things, not just primates, language, cognition, culture, etc. I tivoed (surely a real word, now?) it and eagerly shared it with everyone I could. In a way, it is too bad that Ms. Gruen's new book is fiction, instead of a nonfiction piece of similar scale.

Panbanisha sounds like a very sweet person to know and a good friend.
