Teco is now 15 months old and, like any baby, changes with each passing week and month. Check out the new slideshow of images.

Pat G says:
Watching Teco's videos and looking at the slides is a dream come true - I used to wish that Kanzi would become a father and in spite of the odds, he did. I just watched the Australian film clip and the reporter would have benefited from a little homework before arriving. She makes it sound as if Teco's only connections are with humans and as Dr. Sue tried to explain, that isn't true. Taking Teco away from his bonobo family and isolating him with only humans would be a giant step backward for ape research and ape births in captivity. One of the much earlier ape research subjects when first confronted with her own kind recoiled and hand-signed that they were "black bugs". I believe this was Washoe. That isn't going to happen with Teco.
I'm not criticizing Washoe or Roger Fouts or the Gardners and I drove 2,000 miles just to be able to visit with Washoe before she died. The way that Teco is being raised with his adopted mother Dr. Sue AND his bonobo family is just so much more natural for the baby.
