Great Ape Trust Conservation Director to Speak at Science Center of Iowa

Conservation and its importance to all of us will be the topic of a presentation next week at the Science Center of Iowa. by Great Ape Trust's Dr. Benjamin Beck.
Great Ape Trust's director of conservation will speak September 13, 5:30 as part of the Cafe Scientifique series hosted by the Science Center. His lecture, Saving Apes (or Orcas or Orchids): Who Cares and Why? is open to the public and free.
In addition to his position as conservation director, Dr.Beck also directs The Trust's forest restoration and chimpanzee conservation program in Rwanda - the Gishwati Area Conservation Program.
He recently collaborated with two former Great Ape Trust researchers on an important new book about animal tool manufacture and use. Animal Tool Behavior: The Use and Manufacture of Tools By Animals.
