Great Ape Trust’s buildings and grounds manager Brian Eldridge prepared a half acre (about one fourth hectare) of a campus low area and planted 25 pounds (about 12 kilograms) of wild wetland plant seeds. This wetland will complement our plantings of native tallgrass prairie, which are already attracting a wonderful diversity of birds, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates, and delighting us each summer day with an astonishing variety of color and shape.
