Candidates who are accepted to our internship program are required to bring funding to the Trust for the opportunity to intern. A one year program is $30,000 dollars. Six month and three month internships may be considered.
Candidates are responsible for their own housing, transportation, and living support. Candidates must be willing to have TB testing and a variety of inoculations which may include seasonal flu, H1N1, hepatitis A & B and proof of childhood diseases and or vaccination records.
Candidates should submit a proposal (1) demonstrating competence in the scientific literature of Rumbaugh, Savage-Rumbaugh, and Fields; (2) articulating two or more specific aims as it relates to your aspirations; (3) describing the manner of funding support you have established or seek to obtain; and (4) providing three letters of recommendations (two academic and one personal.)
The program is highly competitive. Competence in the literature is a prerequisite and it is not possible to simply purchase an internship. Letters of recommendation are critical.
I will be glad to guide you through the process if you are interested. We encourage creativity and thinking outside the box in terms of your specific aims. If you need help in applying for funding from granting agencies, I encourage you to think in a trans-disciplinary manner focused upon informing larger issues. While most everyone has humanitarian goals, practical aims will get more attention.
Great Ape Trust Interns observe and support noninvasive research with bonobo and orangutans. Interns have the opportunity to participate in social care of captive apes and to contribute to the complex social enrichment strategies that involves symbolic communication with apes using lexigrams. Interns are invited to the Science Circle where they may express their views on science, ape welfare, and ape conservation along with the investigators of the program and visiting distinguished guests.
Thank you for your interests in the Trust.

What are Run in Sheds
Run in sheds are special structures used for horses, car port shelter, barns and stalls. They are built with locally available materials, relatively easy to construct and very useful in a homestead. Run in sheds are designed with an open front and three closed sides.
Waterloo Structures specializes in both ready to assemble and permanent run in sheds. We provide a wide range of designs, shapes and sizes depending on the preferences of the customers. The prices vary depending on the preferred materials and the size of the shed. Ideally, the run in shed for a horse should have two compartments, one that is open; this is where the horse stays. The other closed compartment is where the hay or other animal feeds are stored. The run in sheds must be roofed with strong and weather resistant materials to ensure that they can withstand extreme weather conditions ranging from scotching hot summers to snowing winters.
How to Build a Run in Shed
You must identify a location that is dry and high. Important to note is that the location should not be prone to flooding as this can cause discomfort to the horse and eventually make the shed useless during the wet seasons. The pad should be raised a few inches from the ground to avoid any form of flooding. Water Loo Structures will give you unmatching quality of run in sheds at an affordable price, indeed your dream of owning a super run in shed for your horse is a phone call away.
Maintenance of Run In Sheds
It is pretty easy to maintain a run in shed, all you need is to clean it regularly, avoid pilling up of horse droppings and keep the shed free of floods. Timber structures require periodic painting to avoid damage by termites or rotting. It is also advisable to ensure that the sheds do not harbor rodents such as rats, therefore you should have rat traps just in case they come by. Rodents are dangerous, they can damage the structure as well as the feeds for your horses.
Making an Order for a Run in Shed
